You have given me a gift such as I never even dreamt of finding in this life ~ Franz Kafka

As I reflect back on the past decade, it’s hard to believe that it’s been ten years today since I embarked on a life-changing adventure to Iceland to document Sarah and Josh’s connection and elopement. I am struck by the profound impact it has had on my life and career as a photographer. Shaping the trajectory of my photographic journey in ways I could have never anticipated.

The images I captured over those 2 days, resonated far beyond their intended purpose, drawing attention from millions of people to my work and opening doors to opportunities I had only dreamed of. The years that have followed I’ve been on countless adventures, documenting connections and celebrations all around the world and have had the opportunity to travel back to this beautiful country on 15 different occasions.

I am humbled by the incredible significance it has had on my career and am forever grateful for everything is has allowed me to do since.

Now 10 years later, I still am at a loss for words, so I’ll end this post with the words I wrote from the airport in Iceland as I waited to fly back home a decade ago:

“…Where do I begin. How do I begin? How do I put into words how incredible it has all been? This experience is something that I have dreamt about for years and now to be here sitting at the airport waiting to go back home is almost as surreal as landing here just over 48 hours ago…”
